Billy Gene Sumner

Billy Gene "Catfish" Sumner, 62, of Key Drive in Paducah , died at 8:50 am Sunday at his residence.

Mr. Sumner, a Linton native, was a truck driver for E.C.R. Inc and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes A. Sumner of Paducah; his mother, Nancy Sumner of Paducah; one son, Billy W. Sumner of Calvert City; six stepdaughters, Penny Bowling of Paducah, Monnie Miles of Elburn, Ill, Peggy Miles of Geneva, Ill., Vickie Crambleholme of St. Charles, Ill., Tammy Bomleny of Maple Park, Ill, and Amy Engstrom of DeKalb, Ill; one brother, Paul E. Sumner of Mayfield; three sisters, Betty Thompson of Paducah, Linda Wimberly of Plano, Texas and Mary Elizabeth Goacher of Calvert City; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Monroe Sumner, one brother, one sister and a granddaughter.

Services will be at 1 pm Wednesday at Lindsey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah.

Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Veterans Aministration
