DEATH OF R. E. McDANIEL
R. E. McDaniel, pioneer resident, and one of this community's best known and most highly respected citizens, died Wednesday, September 28, at his home south of this city. Mr. McDaniel had been in failing health for several months and his death was not wholly unexpected.
The son of Francis and Cynthia McDaniel, he was born in Gallia County, Ohio, April 2, 1863, and was over 76 years old. He moved to Schuyler county, Mo., in 1886, and was married to Mildred A. Lasley November 28, 1886. There were eight children born to this union, three of whom, one son and two daughters, preceded him in death.
The surviving relatives are his wife, three sons, W. A. McDaniel, Colorado Springs; A. V. McDaniel and B. H. McDaniel, El Dorado Springs; two daughters, Mrs. W. H. Lackey, El Dorado Springs and Mrs. G. D. Roberts, Walker, Mo. He also leaves ten grandchildren, a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Gwinn-Siders funeral home in this city and were conducted by Rev. R. A. Blalock, pastor of the Christian church. Burial was in the Clintonville cemetery, a short distance south of town.
