Martin James Culligan ill for the last six weeks after suffering a stroke,died at his home. He was born Feb. 14 1876, on a farm near Littleport IA, the son of Martin and Mary Culligan. On Jan. 11, 1916 he married Mary Kathryn Moran at Ruthven IA, and they came to Waterloo to make there home.
He was employed for 21 years as a stock keeper in the repair room of the Associated Manufacturers Corporation.

M.J. Culligan returned to Colesburg Monday afternoon after a short time spent in this County among friends. Mr Culligan is the principal of schools of Colesburg and goes back after another year. This will be his third year there. He had to return to Colesburg to look after something in connection with a new building which is being erected there for school purposes. He is a Palo Alto county boy and is making good at Colesburg.

Mr and Mrs James Culligan of Waterloo have for ten days or more been visiting relatives and friends in this county. Mr Culligan was for fifteen or sixteen years, a teacher in the schools of Palo Alto. He has now a good position with the Associated Manufacturers of Waterloo.
