With profound regret we chronicle the death of Mr. Henry J. Brewer, well known in Lawrence and Lincoln counties.
Mr. Brewer was a Confederate Veteran and for the past several months had made his home at Beauvoir.
He was 76 years old.
He leaves three children - Joe Brewer and Mmes. Ella Fugler and Esther Ainsworth.
The funeral will take place today at eleven o'clock at Fair River.
Mr. Brewer is well and pleasantly remembered at this office where he made an annual pilgrimage to pay for his paper. He was an honorable citizen and had within him the soul of chivalry and loyalty.
Peace to his ashes.
