Eldeen Gable

LONGVIEW - Services for Reva Eldeen Gable, 83, of Longview, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011, in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road, Longview, Texas, with Bishop Tom Bayles, Bro. William Grubbs and Bro. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Kelsey Cemetery in Kelsey. Mrs. Gable died Monday, December 12, 2011, at Margaret's House.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today, December 14, 2011, at the funeral home.

She was born to Clyde and Loreta Dixon in Kelsey, Texas, on November 13, 1928. She grew up in Kelsey, and lived most of her life in Longview. She worked at Resistol Hats for 38 years, and was the first woman supervisor. She was married to her beloved husband, Fred Gable, for 49 years. She was an avid lover of country music. Later in life, she reunited with an old friend, Orval Perry, and was married to him for 10 years prior to his death. She was loved, and loved well.

The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice and their staff at Margaret's House.

Mrs. Gable is survived by one sister, Elaine Floyd and husband, Tex; loving daughters, Melva Sheronne Carlin and husband, John, and Terry Hidalgo and husband, Phillip; grandchildren, Kimberly Milcarek and husband, Stefan, Joe Lindsay and wife, Shannon, Shannon Baton and husband, Jay, Phillip Hidalgo IV and Teresa Cornelius and husband, Cullum; great-grandchildren, Corey, Shelby, Ross-Michael, Joseph, Jesse, Morgan, Alexis, Aniston, Logan, Chase and McKenzie; great-great-grandchildren, Mason, Kori, Carter and Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Etta Loretta Dixon; father, Clyde Edward Dixon; husband, Fred Gable; brother, Talmadge Dixon; sisters, Charisa Rasmussen and Beatrice Corley; and her beloved grandson, Christopher Fred Gable.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Lindsay, Stefan Milcarek, Ross-Michael Schmidt, Joseph Schmidt, Jay Baton and Cullum Cornelius.
