Note that when this memorial was created, the contributor entered Sarah Malinda's maiden name as Woodside. It was my understanding that Sarah Malinda's maiden name was Jordan and that her parents were Chauncey Jordan & Mary M. Woodsides. It appears, however, that Chauncey Jordan was likely Sarah Malinda's stepfather. A deed record shows that her grandfather was William Woodsides and her mother was Mary Woodsides Jordan. The death certificates of three of Sarah Malinda's children who lived long enough to have modern-day death certificates show her maiden name as Woodside while one shows her maiden name as Jordan.

Sarah Malinda married Franklin Sprinkle. Census records show that they had at least thirteen children, as follows: Mary Ann; Hiram T.; William Franklin; James C.; Martha J.; Malinda Caroline "Caroline"; Emily Andodine (may have married Samuel Pharr); John Bunion; Margaret; Robert Thornton; Elizabeth; Julia C. (married Samuel Hellard); & Reuben Augustus.
