(April 18, 1903 - May 1, 1974)
Olive Chase LaPato was the daughter of Joseph Jesse and Martha (Wakute) Chase.
Ollie was sister to Joseph Nelson Chase, Thomas Guy Chase, Helena Chase Gustafson, Oliver Charles Chase, Marie Martha Chase, Joseph Hazen Chase, Obed Jesse Chase, Viola "Emma" Chase and Beatrice "Jeanette" Chase.
She was married to Frank LaPato who helped raise Bobby. They had no children together.
Survivors included two sons, Robert (Bobby) Chase and Melvin Frazier along with many grandchildren and other relatives. She had another son named Sydney S. Frazier. Nothing's really known about him.
Some of us called her "Auntie Ollie". She was a dear woman. She spoke very quickly and always with a smile. Very easy to chuckle.
She was a member of the Santee Sioux Tribe of Nebraska.
AS I SIT IN HEAVEN
As I sit in Heaven, and watch you everyday
I try and let you know with signs, I never went away.
I hear you when your laughing, and I watch you as you sleep.
I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep.
I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home.
So I try to send you signs, so you know you're not alone.
Don't feel guilty that you have life, that was denied to me.
Heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see!
So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free.
Then I'll know with every breath you take,
you'll be taking one for me!
