Elizabeth "Liz" Richison-Bearshield was born on Valentine's Day 1931, in Tupelo, MS, to a traveling circus owner & a N. Dakota farm girl. She went to be with her Lord on Sept. 24, 2008, after a six-week battle on life support.

She and her only sister, Dixie Splawn, were raised in Ft. Smith, AR, where Liz met & married Bill Richison in 1949. The couple moved to OKC in 1954 and raised their two sons, Randy & David. Ever the independent woman, like her mother, Liz worked outside the home as an administrative assistant most of her professional life.

In 1974, she married her 2nd husband, Sylvester Bearshield with whom she had her only daughter, Carolyn. After being widowed in 1993 she worked as a tax preparer and retired to Texarkana to live with her sister.

In 2005, she moved back to OKC to be closer to her family. She moved to Shepard Manor Senior Living Center, where she made countless friends, revamped their library, organized poetry and reading circles and opened the center's first gift shop, now lovingly named "Liz's Country Store."

She is survived by her sister, Dixie Splawn of Texarkana her two sons, Randy Richison and wife, Debbie of OKC, David Richison and wife, Junko of Fredrick, Maryland her daughter, Carolyn Bakhtiari and husband, Shawn of OKC five grandchildren, Chad Richison and his wife, Nissa and Shannon Rowe and her husband, Rob, all of Edmond, Justin Richison, and Jakob & Emily Bakhtiari, all of OKC. Her six beloved great grandchildren are Gabe, Arbie, Ian and Ava Richison, and Charlie and Ruby Rowe.
