All other "family history" sources done by other individuals, lists her surname as "Kearse." However; her surname is listed as "Padgett" in the F. M. Morris Family Bible with no mention of "Kearse". Theory - It may be that Sarah Anne Padgett was married to a "Kearse" before she married Thomas Morris.

On the death certificate of her daughter, Sarah Victory Morris, gives her mother's name as "Sarahann Kearse."
