OBITUARY:
January 22, 1903 Spring Valley Sun - Mrs. Javnita Clossen Marble died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Larsen, in the village of Maiden Rock January 13th. She was born in New York in 1820. November 14th 1841 she was united in marriage to Levi Marble, of Whitside Co., Illinois. In 1854 they moved to their farm at Dead Lake Prairie, where Mr. Marble died some three years ago. Mrs. Marble continued to reside there until a month ago when she came to Maiden Rock to spend the winter with her daughter. Her death was the result of a cold caught ten days before. She leaves four daughters to mourn her loss - Mrs. J. J. Larsen of Maiden Rock, Mrs. H. Saddler of Pepin, and Mrs. H. Carlisle and Mrs. J. Holden of Durand. The funeral took place from her old home in Dead Lake Prairie Thursday, Rev. M. A. Michaels officiating.
