Mr. John Burgett of Middlesex township, was hauling wood in the mountains this morning when his horses took fright and threw him from the wagon, dislocating his ankle. Dr. Boyer reduced the dislocation.

JOHN BURGETT DEAD.

Well Known Citizen of Carlisle Springs Succumbs to Cancer.

John Burgett, a highly respected and well known citizen of Carlisle Springs, died at 7 30 o'clock last night after a year's illness with cancer, aged 65 years. Deceased was a member of the Lutheran church and resided In the township in which be died all his life, and for ten years resided on the Lewis Masonheimer farm. A wife and four children survive: Mrs. George Garman, Capriva; Charles and Addson, of Carlisle Springs, and Miss Luella at home. Mrs. Julia Minnich, of Loysville, Is a sister, and Martin, of Dickinson township, and Phllip, of New Kingston, brothers of deceased. Funeral services at the house Monday morning at 9.30 o'clock; interment at Carlisle Springs cemetery (sic).

The funeral of John Burgett, Carlisle Springs, was held this morning at 9 30 o'clock, Rev. Ira F. Brame officiating. Pall bearers were John Myers, W.W. Gutshall, John Brown and Moses Wagner.

CUMBERLAND VALLEY.

Mr. John Burgett died at his residence in Middlesex township, one mile northeast of Carlisle Springs. About ten years ago he was kicked by a horse and several years later was run over by his team while descending the mountain. He never fully recovered and his death was due to cancer. The deceased was aged 65 years and spent the greater portion of his life in farming. He was a member of the Lutheran Church at Carlisle Springs and was a man of fine character and sterling integrity, much respected and esteemed by all. His wife and four children survive, viz: Charles and Addison I., Middlesex township; Mrs. George. Farman, North Middleton, and Luella, at home; also a sister and two brothers, viz: Mrs. John Minnich, Loysville, Pa.; Martin Dickinson township; and Philip, Middlesex township. The funeral was. held at 9.30 o'clock Monday morning, in the church at Carlisle Springs.
