Daughter of George and Elizabeth (Duey) Brindle, she was born in January 1828, North Middleton Township (now Middlesex twp), Cumberland County, Pa. George Brindle born about 1791 married 21 March 1820 at Carlisle, Dickenson twp, Cumberland Co., Pa. by Rev. Benjamin Keller to Elizabeth Duey, daughter of Peter Duey, a Revolutionary soldier. They were blessed with six children who reached maturity:
