Enlisted at age 20 at Poughkeepsie, NY; mustered in PVT Co F for 1 year; died of disease 8 Nov 1864 at 19th AC Hospital, Winchester, VA.
(NYS Adj Gen Rpt)
CROSHIER/CROSIER/CROSHLINE∼I am attaching an original burial card to the memorial.
It gives no dates of death.
All it says: Orig. Bur. Meth. Gr. Yd., Va. Grave #798
according to military records he served from 3 Sep 1864 from Fishkill, Dutchess County, New York and enlisted in Poughkeepsie, New York.
It lists his parents as Abraham and Margaret (Lovelace) Croshier.
I found a U. S. Register of Deaths of Volunteers that lists his death from pneumonia on 8 Nov 1864 in The Winchester Hospital, Winchester, Winchester City, Virginia, USA.
Another note:
his name is listed as Croshyer on the U. S. Civil War Roll Of Honor for burials in this cemetery. Please advise of spelling. It also gives a Lot# 21 if that is of help.
