Robert B. "Bob" Baltz died 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 1993, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a four and a half-year battle with cancer. He was 61, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Baker for 38 years. He was formerly an employee of WBRZ TV and was an annuitant of Exxon Chemical, Baton Rouge Plastics Plant, with over 24 years of service. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served three years.

Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, 4 to 10 p.m. Monday, and 9 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Lane. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Survived by wife of 41 years, Shirley McGrew Baltz, Baker; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki B. Hicks and James W. Hicks Jr., Lafayette, Trudi B. Stafford and John R. Stafford, Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Harper Lynn Hicks and James Jared Hicks, Lafayette, and Hilary Ryan Stafford, Houston, Texas; two sisters, Celeste B. Taylor, La Place, and Patsy B. Wright, New Orleans; a brother, Dr. Horace J. Baltz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by mother, Delores C. Baltz; father John H. Baltz; and brothers, Warren Baltz and John L. Baltz Sr.

Pallbearers will be Horace Baltz, Jim Hicks, John Stafford, Jared Hicks, Karl Baltz, and Michael Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Dunne, John LeSieur, Gordon Lee, Robert Judge, Gerald McGrew, Ben Stewart, Gene McKey, Doug Walker, Paul Dufour, Darden Underwood, Jesse Arnold, Johnny Allen, Tom Love and Nick Motto.

He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and a former Deacon. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 9526 Joor Road, Baton Rouge, 70818.
