Marie L. Olson age 88 of Grand Haven died Friday October 15,1999 at North Ottowa Community Hospital. She was born January 10,1911 in Petoskey to Glen and Libby ( Ketcham) Beard
and married Alfred J. Olson on august 7, 1932 in Frankfort, Michigan. they had been married forty-six years at the time of his death on October 31, 1978. Mrs Olson lived most of her life and worked for Steketee Department Store until her reitrement. Later because of her interest in and love of antiques, she was pleased to be able to assist local dealers in their shops.She continued her life-long interest in sewing and also contributed to the Free Bed Guild and Meals on Wheels.
she is survived by her daughter MArilyn Kay Olson Herreshoff of Ardmore, Penn:
four grandchildren:
Halsey C. Herreshoff ll and Kristin Herreshoff of Bristol Rhode Island.
Heidi Herreshoff of Denver Colo.
and Karl Herreshoff of San Diego Calif.
as well as one great grandson- Sidney V. Gilbert
She was preceded in death by her son, Warren c. Olson
Internment and private memorial services will be in Lake-Forest Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Disabled Veterans of America or the American Heart Association.
Funeral services are through VanZantwick Bartles Kammeraad Funeral Home of Grand Haven.
