"Mrs. Lovey Galentine Died
Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Johnson funeral home for Mrs. Sadie Galentine, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Long, pastor of the Methodist church here.
Mrs. Galentine, wife of Lovey Galentine, died at her home here about 2 o'clock Tuesday morning of the infirmities of age. She had been in failing health more than a year and had been critically ill since Friday.
Mrs Galentine was 81 years of age and had lived almost her entire life in this community. She was born on the Kier homestead 8 miles north of Stanberry and with the exception of about seven years spent in Iowa, Nebraska and Montana, the remainder of her life had been lived here. For the past 21 years she and her husband had resided in the southeast part of town.
She is survived by six children by a former marriage. They are, Troy Pettit of Stanberry; Jimmy Pettit of Torrington, Wyo.; Myron Pettit of Cross Trail, Calif.; Mrs. John Lewis of Stanberry; Mrs. Maude Lyons of Iowa and Amy LaForde (sic) of Melville, Mont.
She has two living brothers, J. N. Kier of Stanberry and Henan Kier of St. Joseph.
Burial was in the Hall Cemetery."
