Thomas Benton Barnes was born in (old) Tishomingo (now Prentiss) County. He was a son of William "Bill" R. Barnes and Parmentina Juanita Manuel, who are also buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. He married Parza A. Kimbrell. He farmed in the old Lambert Precinct, near Altitude. He and Parza had 7 children: 1) Columbus Franklin (mrd Bettye Lou Borden); 2) George Washington (mrd Florence Stevens); 3) Wiley A., died young and buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery; 4) William Luther(mrd Mattie Lou Stevens); they are buried in Liberty Church Cemetery; 4) Minnie Pearl (mrd Daniel Luther Shook); they are buried in Hodges Chapel Cemetery; 5) Rhoda Permentina (mrd Daniel Wyatt Jones); both buried in New Lebanon Cemetery; 6) Thomas Benton Barnes, died young and is buried beside his father in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Following the death of Thomas Benton Barnes, his widow, Parza, married John T. Taylor circa 1930. Parza died 19 March 1940 and is buried in Farmington Cemetery, Alcorn Co., MS
