Samuel Burgess Dies
"Uncle" Sam Burgess, an early day resident of Waukomis and a member of the G.A.R., died at his home Sunday evening at about 5 o'clock. "Uncle Sam" as every body who knew him was wont to call him, was well known over the county, being prominent in Grand Army and political circles. He was about 75 years of age, and had been confined to his bed for some weeks and his death was unexpected.
Mrs. Frank Bowers of this place has been with him much during his last illness. Funeral services were held in Waukomis Tuesday afternoon.
