PIEDMONT, W.Va. Mary Ann McGoye, 73, of 114 E. Hampshire St., Piedmont, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Born Nov. 22, 1930 in Luke, Md., she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Helen (Mullan) Kelly. Her husband in 1993, John Thomas McGoye; and a brother, Fred Kelly also preceded her in death.

Mrs. McGoye was a 1948 graduate of Bruce High School. She retired from the Mineral County Board of Education, having been an Elementary School Reading Tutor. Mrs. McGoye was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, having participated in many church activities, including being a long time member of the church choir. She was a member of the Piedmont Library Board, and was very active with the Tri-Towns After School Program.

She leaves behind two sons, John Thomas McGoye Jr. and wife Susan of Flintstone, Md., Jeffrey A. McGoye and special friend Vicky of Piedmont; one daughter, Joanne Miller and husband Joe of Pottstown, Pa.; one sister, Patricia Betty Ismert and husband Jim of Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Lauren Miller, Jessica Miller and John Miller, all of Pottstown, Shanna McGoye, Britni McGoye and Jeffrey A. J.J. McGoye Jr., all of Westernport, Md., Ian McGoye of Pratt, Kan. and Mary Ellen McGoye of Flintstone; and one great-grandson, Ethan McGoye of Pratt.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bart Thompson officiating.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

Pallbearers will be Joe Miller, John Miller, Chuck Dawson, Phil Fazenbaker, Tom Hamilton and J.J. McGoye.

In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe directed to the Piedmont Library, or the Tri-Towns After School Program. Cards for these memorials maybe acquired at the funeral home.
