Racine Tankersley
Services for Racine M. Tankersley, 82, Burleson, were held March 28, 2007, at Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City with Ken Maddox officiating. Interment was in Tarver Cemetery in Van Zandt County under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank.
Tankersley was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Van Zandt County and died March 25, 2007, in Fort Worth.
He lived in Mabank for 28 years and moved to Burleson in 2006. He was a member of the Beacon Church of Christ and loved playing dominos. He retired from Vought Corporation in 1980 after more than 32 years service and was married Feb. 3, 1946.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1356 in Grand Prairie.
Survivors include his wife Vaunola Tankersley, Burleson; sons Ronnie Tankersley and wife Linda, Phalba; Marty Keith Tankersley and wife Marguerette, Galveston; Kerry Tankersley and wife Teressa, Ponder; and Luther Tankersley and wife Vicki, Terrell; daughters Fama Harris and husband Rodney, Sunset; and Lajuana Bilger and husband Kenneth, Alvarado; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerrod Tankersley, Jason Tankersley, Toni Moore, Robby Moore, Chad Bilger and Jason Lee Tankersley.
