Vida "Gaye" Bailey-Hurley, 85, of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Baileysville, WV died on Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, in a New Braunfels, TX care center following a long illness.
Born March 24, 1914, in Baileysville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Otis Van Buren Bailey (1875-1967) and Ida K. Bailey-Bailey (1882-1975).
She was the last surviving member of her family of 14 children - Frederick Howard "Fred" Bailey (1897-1954), Blanche Bailey (1901-Deceased), Ray Bailey (1902-Deceased), Virgil L. Bailey (1904-1969), James "Elmer Bailey (1906-1961), William Clyde Bailey (1907-1932), Arnold O. Bailey (1909-1972), Anna Marie Bailey-Jackson (1917-1995) & four others.
Married to Oley Wallace Hurley (1912-1957) on January 30, 1946 in Baileysville, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1946, Page 328, Application Date: January 22, 1946).
Mother of three sons, Alexander "Lee" Hurley & wife Jane Hurley of Converse, TX, John "Johnnie" Kyle Hurley (1947-2016) & wife Doris Jean "Jeannie" Altizer-Hurley (1951-2009) of Oceana, and Donald E. Hurley & wife Sheila Hurley of Mount Hope; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
