Mother: Lucinda Elizabeth MORGAN 1804 - 1863

In the 1856 Iowa Census, He was 14 years old & had been living in Iowa for 4 years. The 1860 Census lists him as a farm laborer & attending school.

He served in the 8th IA Cavalry Company I during the Civil War.

On 4 Feb 1869, He married Sarah Ann HANNUM. She died in 1871
On 14 Dec 1873, He married his 2nd wife, Sarah NOBLE.

The 1885 Iowa Census lists 4 children: William F. aged 10; Samuel aged 7; A son Bertie aged 5 and a daughter Bertha aged 5.

The 1895 Iowa Census shows him living in the Ames 2nd Ward & makes note of his Civil War service.
