His widow, Nancy Jane Sutt Bain, received a Widow's Pension. She resided in Knox County, Indiana, Post Office: Oak Station, and stated her age as 34. Nancy and George were married 19 June 1849, Spencer County, Kentucky. Five children under the age of 16 received Minor's Pensions. Lockey Ann, born 21 June 1851. Nancy Catherine, born 1 Oct 1852. Charles H., born 9 Nov 1856. Edwin Franklin, born 27 Sep 1859. George Lincoln, born 6 June 1861. The pension file did have detail of the wound received by Private Bain saying that his leg was amputated due to a gun shot wound and that resulted in his death.
