Suicide by gunshot due to health concerns.

Brother in law of Alvin C Ash. Ash, a fellow customs official, stated that he and another man had gone to Garner's house to cheer him up. Garner excused himself and a shot was heard shortly after.

Mother died about a year and a half previous.
