DODGEVILLE
Esther Jeanetta (Mindham) O'Kane passed away on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at the Mineral Point Care Center. Esther was born on Haney Ridge on Aug. 26, 1916, to Walter and Christena (Hansen-Ritchie) Mindham. She married Verle "Jake" O'Kane on Sept. 11, 1947. Esther is survived by her four daughters, Judy Fuller, Joyce Westby, Janet Klosterman and Jo (Mike) Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Patricia Mindham; grandchildren, Mark Mindham, Robin Cordts, Lorie (Greg) Mumm, Jenelle, John and Jayne Fuller, Ross, Mary, and Paul Klosterman, Erica Kelly, and Kelly, Clare, Molly, and Mikey Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Casey and Cody Cordts and Caitlin Mumm; brother, Bob Mindham; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Mindham and Pearl Kast; and brother-in-law, Clifford O'Kane. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jake O'Kane; son, Kenny Mindham; sister, Geneva(Harry) McKinley; brothers, Norman (Helene "Tudy"), Haymen (Lorene) and Russell Mindham, and Pete (Lucille), Bill (Lucille) and Stanley (Lucy) Ritchie; son-in-law, John Fuller; grandson-in-law, David Cordts; sister-in-law, Hazel(Roy) Havens; brothers-in-law, Bill (Fern) O'Kane, Hiram (Cleo) O'Kane and Kenneth(Kathryn) O'Kane. Having lost her only sister, Esther's many sisters-in-law happily filled the void. She had a special relationship with each of them and treasured their friendships over the years. She also took on many "daughters" throughout the years who became part of her life in one way or another. We all knew how much she loved us and when needed, she would always help in any way she could. Family meant everything to Esther. She was a hard-working, wonderful woman, and the glue that held her husband and children together. She will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at the GORGEN-McGINLEY and AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Burial will be held in Haney Ridge Cemetery in Gays Mills. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
