Charles "LeRoy" Hanson, 74, former Superior and Seward resident, died June 2 in Fairfield Bay, Ark. He was born to Christine and Arthur Hanson, April 10,1925, in Superior. Raised on a farm near Superior, he graduated from Superior High School, and in 1945 married Nellie Crook, also of Superior. To them one daughter was born, Adele Hanson Brophy, Washington, D.C.
The Hansons moved to Seward in 1956 and Mr. Hanson first worked for the J. J. Exon Office Equipment Co., in Lincoln. Later he worked for Jack C. Graff Clothier, Seward, and then was a sales representative for Hughes Brothers, Seward.
After his first wife died in 1971, he married Mary Zimmerman of Sioux City, Iowa in 1978. she brought with her to the marriage four daughters and one son, Alice Marley, Blencoe, Iowa, Theresa Wilhelm, Lincoln, Neb., Celeste Zimmerman and Benita Doohen, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Norman Zimmerman, Trinity, N.C. Residing in Sioux City they started a specialty advertising business.
Following their retirement in 1993, they moved to Fairfield, Ark., where Mr. Hanson was a member of the Rotary Club and sang in the St. Francis of Assis Church Choir.
Survivors are his wife, Mary; two brothers, Norman, Denver, and Burdette, Superior. Their children; 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday at St. Francis Assis, Fairfield, Bay, Ark. Burial was Monday in Evergeen Cemetery, Superior.
