Filomeno Gutierrez, Sr., age 80, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 9, 2007. He was born August 31, 1926 in Chilili, New Mexico, to Juanita (Torres) and Donaciano Gutierrez.

He served briefly in the US Army during 1945; and married Cecilia (Griego) following his discharge in 1945.

Filomeno is best remembered for his selfless devotion to his family and his faith. He was an outstanding husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed greatly.

Filomeno was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Rita Gutierrez.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cecilia (Griego); his daughter, Doris F. Vigil and husband, Ernest; two sons, H. Leo Gutierrez and wife, Sylvia; and Filomeno Gutierrez Jr; his grandchildren: Jeremy Vigil, Ernest Vigil Jr. and wife, Jennifer; and Sara Gutierrez; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Jazmino Vigil; one sister, Teresita Gutierrez; one brother, Rosindo Gutierrez; and other family members and friends who loved and will miss him.
