BRYANT, McKinley Jr., age 82, of Toledo passed away suddenly September 17 at 11:27 am
in Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon.

Born June 25, 1926, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, he was the son of Hobert McKinley Bryant and Fronia Price (William Cobb). He married Carolyn Marion June 15, 1973.

He was affectionately known as Smiley to his coworkers, before he retired, and as Papaw to his many grandchildren, and to the people who lived in his neighborhood, he was the Chief.

Junior worked hard for his family at Great Lakes Steel until he retired in 1988.
He was also proud of his service to his country while in the U.S. Army during WWII.

He leaves behind his wife, Carolyn, of 35 years; daughters, Sheliah (Larry) Kruzel, Hope (Bart) Parish, Denise (Dave) Roth, Ottum Bryant-Gears and Charletta
Bryant; sons, Hobert (Barb) Bryant III, Richard (Kym) Metroff, John Metroff and
Timothy Metroff; brothers, Robert Bryant, Benton Cobb and JB Cobb; sisters, Aileen Godby, Mable Ely, Della Sowder and Dolie Fortner; 31 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and his best friends, Dave Hanner and Rosalinda Sifuentes.

Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 - 9:00 pm at the Monroe location of Bennett-Prochnow Funeral Home, where services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Roy Southerland from Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will immediately follow in Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors by the Monroe VFW Post #1138.
