Jack was born Sept. 1, 1915, in Wisconsin Dells, the son of Jacob and Cecilia (Hoedel) Heimel.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1941 and was honorably discharged in 1944.
In April 1958, he married Anna Resac and they moved to a farm in rural Lyndon Station. She preceded him in death in June 2001.
For many years, Jack worked around the Dells area and retired in 1980 from the Dells Boat Company.
Jack is survived by his stepchildren, Frank Levy of Sunnyvale, Calif., Victor Levy of Twain Hart, Calif., and Sharon (Steven) Kautzch of Grand Junction, Colo.; and a nephew, John R. (Merry) Heimel of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna; his sister, Mary Heimel; an infant sister, Ann Cecilia Heimel; and his stepdaughters, Marlene Ryczek and Betty Moldenhauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Lyndon Station with Father Ronald Zinkle, S.J., officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lyndon Station. Military rites will be provided by the Maurice C. Havey V.F.W. Post No. 5970 of Lyndon Station.
