He was born July 28, 1892, in Riverdale, to William and Polly Child Allen.
He married Olga Dean Karren on March 1, 1916, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. She died May 2, 1979.
He was reared in Weber county and attended schools there. He also attended Weber State academy.
He had lived and farmed in Evans, South of Tremonton. where he farmed for many years. He had lived in Tremonton.
Following his retirement, he and his wife lived in Sun City, Ariz., for 20 years. They returned to Utah and lived with a daughter, Beth, in Brigham City and Eden.
Following his retirement, he became an avid golfer, and enjoyed growing flowers and vegetable gardens.
He was a high priest in the LDS church and served in many positions and fulfilled a mission to the New England states.
Surviving are two daughters and three sons: Mrs. LaMont (Beth) Vance, Logan, Mrs. Jaleen Mason, Mesa, Ariz.; Fred W. Allen, Burley, Idaho; Reese K. Allen, Bountiful; Jay M. Allen, Mt. Sterling, Ky.; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters: Mrs. Belle Fiet, Meridian, Idaho, and Mrs. Lois Proctor, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by one son, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Rogers mortuary, Tremonton, and interment was in Bear River City cemetery.
