Esther Jane Wilson, better known to her many friends and acquaintances as "Aunt Esther", passed to her final reward at the residence on Sandyville, Route 2, last Tuesday as the result of a five month illness caused from heart disease. She would have been 87 years old this coming September and was on the old residents of that section of the county. The funeral services were held Thursday at the Independence Church with Rev. Charles Haught and Rev. F.G. Simmons in charge and burial was in the Independence cemetery. She was a native of Noble County, Ohio, but came to this county when only a young girl and made her home for the remainder of her life in the Lockhart section. She was a daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Hamilton. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Alfonzia Lockhart, of Sandyville; Mrs. Lula Burke, of Sandyville; Mrs. Ola Wilson, of Sandyville; Mont Wilson, of Buckhannon; Mack Wilson, of Parkersburg, Charles Wilson, of Spencer; Clark Wilson, of Calhoun County, and Guy Wilson, of Washington D.C. Two brothers, Edward Hamilton, of Cambridge, Ohio and Joe Hamilton, of Detroit, Michigan, also survive.
