BARLING — Jerry D. Burris, 66, of Barling died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in Fort Smith. He was born June 10, 1942, in Russellville. He was a security guard for Securitas, an Air Force veteran and a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship in Van Buren.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Amazing Grace Fellowship in Van Buren with burial at Barling City Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Zona; three daughters, Elygenia Campbell and Karren Howard, both of Greenwood, and Mylissia Haskins of Hot Springs; a son, Kenneth Burris of Greenwood; four stepdaughters, Debbie Smothers of Barling, Tammy White of Cecil, Lynette McClendon of Lavaca, and Melissa Craig of Roland; two stepsons, William Smothers of Tahlequah, Okla., and David Smothers of Charleston; five brothers, Donnie Burris of Sallisaw, Larry Burris of Greenwood, Bill Burris of Florida, Carl Burris of Texas and Dan Burris of Oklahoma City; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stan and Joe Long, Chris Grubbs, Cody Ashley, Gary Hartwig and James Haskins.
