Issac operated the Callison's Boot and Shoe Factory from around 1860 to 1883. He was Christiansburg, Virginia town Mayor in the 1880s.

Veteran Civil War, First Lieutenant, Company C, 60th VA Infantry Regiment; enlisted 26 Jun 1861 at Gauley's Bridge, Fayette County WV near Sewell Mountain with Captain George W. Carr; resigned 27 Apr 1862.
