Richard W. Askren, 90, Indianapolis, died April 15. He was an engineer 20 years for Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors, retiring in 1958. He was a charter member of the Indianapolis 500 Old-Timers Club and a member of Speedway Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and was on the board of directors for Anderson Cemetery. He was a life member of the Scottish Rite and Murat Temple. Mr. Askren was a graduate of Purdue University and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Survivors: wife Rosemary E. Hiland Askren; son Richard F. Askren; brother Joseph I. Askren; sister Mary Askren Kuhn; two grandchildren; three great-grandsons.

Services entrusted to Stirling-Gerber Funeral Home with inurnment: at Anderson Cemetery.
