William A. Currey, farmer and live stock-dealer, owning 169 acres in Section 27, Cicero Township, is a native of Franklin County, Ind., and was born November 19, 1824. He engaged in farming in his native county until 1877, when he removed to Madison County, Ind., and purchased a farm of 154 acres. Shortly after, he traded this land for his present farm in Tipton County and has since resided here. His land is mostly under cultivation, is of fertile soil and well drained, and lies between the Pike and the Wabash Railroad; his farm produces 600 bushels of wheat and 2000 bushels of corn annually. Mr. Currey was married in Franklin County, Ind., March 16, 1862, to Lucinda Stant. They have a family of seven children--Lucy, John and Jonathan (twins), Nora and Cora (twins), William and Charles. Mr. Currey is a lively, energetic, farmer; he raises and trades in stock both horses and cattle, quite extensively.

Susannah Pierce Currey Scott was William A. Currey's first wife and they were the parents of Mary Elizabeth Currey Clark. The couple were married in Franklin Co. IN in 1847 and divorced in 1860. Susannah then married Croghan Scott in 1861. William A. Currey married Lucinda Stant. Both of the remarriages were also in Franklin Co. In. Lucinda was the daughter of James Stant and Permelia Mumford Stant. William A. and Lucinda had 8 children.
