Ronald Kane, born in Mukilteo, WA to Bartle and Clara Kane on January 2, 1924, passed away November 13, 2002 at home.

He graduated from Rosehill School and Everett High School. He worked at Boeing, quitting in order to join the Navy. During World War II, he was a member of the Armed Guard, stationed on supply ships to guard the ship. He also served on the USS Oberon and SS Charles E. Smith. Returning home in 1946 he married Thelma Weers.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother Merle Kane; and son Patrick.

He is survived by his wife Thelma of 56 years; his brother William and sister-in-law Pearl Kane; his five children, Richard (Lucy) Kane of Everett, Ann (Cameron) Almli of Mukilteo, Jannelle Spaller of Stanwood and Mark Spaller of Arlington, Michael (Cheryl) Kane of Mukilteo, and Cheryl (Bob) Wright of Everett; 17 grandchildren, Nancy and Rob Toth of Mt. Vernon, Ed Noble of Mukilteo, Ryan Almli (Carrisa Malloy) of Everett, Jennifer Almli (Alex Daily) of Everett, Cole Almli of Mukilteo, Heather Kane (Jay) of Lynnwood, Tricia Kane (Paul) of Seattle, Patricia Kane of Everett, Alisia and Tyson Bushnell of Arlington, Aaron King, and Chennelle Spaller of Stanwood, Amie Kane of Everett, Josh Kane of Bellingham, Olivia Kane and Lydia Kane of Mukilteo, Matthew and Brandon Wright of Everett; great-grandchildren, Emily Toth, Tyson Jr. Bushnell, and Tana Daily; and daughter-in-law Linda (Malaki, Malaki Jr. and Oleana) Seanoa.

Ron was a life long member of St. John Mission of Mukilteo, St. Mary Magdalen Church, Mukilteo Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years (plus six 6 Fire Commissioner), a member of the Mukilteo City Council 8 years and 5 years as Mayor of Mukilteo. He was a life member of the Everett Elks (2 years as Trustee), life member of the VFW of Everett, life member of Everett Knights of Columbus #763. At time of death was serving as Commissioner of Mukilteo Water District. He also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, St. Mary Magdalen Food Bank for many years.

He worked for the Mukilteo Water District, the Mukilteo Grocery Store, Pioneer and Darigold Dairies, owned Lavelle Produce and the A & W Drive In for 20 years. After retirement he and Thelma traveled around the U.S. and twice to Ireland to see relatives and to Mexico.

Viewing will be available Saturday, November 16, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Avenue, Everett. Funeral Services will be held at St. John Mission, 3rd and Loveland, Mukilteo at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2002. Burial at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Everett.
