William John Miley
William John "Bill" Miley, age 85 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008, at his home. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Clinton. Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Vansant-Mills Chapel with visitation following 7:15-8:30 p.m. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Holy Rosary Building Fund and may be left in care of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home. William was born in the Town of Union, Eau Claire, WI. in 1922, to John and Mary (Sheils) Miley. He served in the U. S. Army's Counter Intelligence Corp during W. W. II and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Policy Analyst for the Social Security Administration retiring in 1978. The family lived in New York, Iowa, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Clinton in l993 where they have since resided.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, VFW 1894 and the American Legion 14, the U S Army Counter Intelligence Corp Veterans and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He also volunteered at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital for a time.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary (Sheils) Miley; one son, Martin Miley; two sisters, Beth Dufner and Margaret McCollow; one brother, John Miley and one granddaughter, Rachel Watkins.
He is survived by his wife, "Marlys" of the home; a son William, Jr., Ft. Wayne, IN.; seven daughters, Mary Ellen Sunseri and husband, Tom of Bonifay, FL., Kathie Williams and husband, Paul of Pleasant Hill, MO., Laurie Watkins and husband, David of Landenberg, PA., Molly Goodrich and husband, Charles of Independence, MO., Michele Miley of Dearborn Heights, MI., Margaret Bernardin and husband, Bob of Oviedo, FL., and Jonni Nuhn and husband, Tony of Kearney, MO.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Michael Miley of Eau Claire, WI. and a number of nieces and nephews.
