Anna Louise Charlotte Beckmann, was born Nov. 24, 1878 in St. Louis, MO. She was one of 8 children born to Gottlieb and Caroline (Borgmann) Beckmann.
When she was about 5 years old, she moved with her parents to Nemaha County, NE. where they settled on a farm south of Johnson, it was here in this community that she got her education and grew to young womanhood.
On Oct. 23, 1898 she was united in marriage with Herman Guenther at the home of her parents. To this union 9 children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Guenther lived on the farm until 1947 when they moved to Auburn, NE. and established their home there. Mrs. Guenther had been a member of St.Paul's south of Johnson, NE. until they moved to Auburn where she joined the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Guenther passed away at her home in Auburn, Friday morning April 22, 1960, she had reached the age of 81 years, she was preceded in death by one daughter Lena, who passed away in 1947 and by 6 of her brothers and sisters.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Herman at home in Auburn, 8 children. Ernest of Breckenridge, OK. Henry of Auburn, Fred of Tecumseh, Frieda, Mrs. L.A. Ucker of South Haven, MN. August of Auburn, Walter of Lynn,Ks. and Emma C. Guenther of Auburn, and Agnes, Mrs. M.W. Eicker of Seward, NE.
She also survived by 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one brother, Henry Beckmann of Plattsmouth, NE. Many other relatives and many friends.
