Steve R. Merritt, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Merritt of Brownsburg, passed away Sunday four hours after his car collided with another on US 136 two miles east of Brownsburg. Besides the parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Kepler; a brother, Stanley; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Neva Merritt. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Jones & Matthews Mortuary at Brownsburg.

Stephen Robert Merritt, age 16 years, a junior in the Brownsburg high school, suffered fatal injuries in a traffic accident two miles east of Brownsburg Saturday night. He died in Methodist hospital early Sunday morning after he drove his car into the path of a car driven by Jack Adair, 16, of Brownsburg. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at Brownsburg. Burial was in the Brownsburg Cemetery. Young Merritt is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Merritt; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Kepler; a brother, Stanley Merritt; and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Neva Merritt, all of Brownsburg.
