84, formerly of 1178 W. Grove St., Galesburg, died at 8:13 PM Friday, September 12, 2008 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born January 3, 1924 in Galesburg, the daughter of Ben R. and Hazel Robbins Altine. She married Richard J. Anderson on April 15, 1943 in West Palm Beach, FL. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1993.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Jane L. (and Ron) Baughman of Downers Grove, IL and Susan G. Anderson of Woodridge, IL, 1 granddaugter, Sarah (and Andrew) Bashaw of Plainfield, IL, and 1 brother, John R. (and Claire) Altine of Largo, FL.
Marjorie graduated from Galesburg High School in 1941 and then Brown's Business College. She worked for Galesburg School District 205 for over 25 years at the school board office and at Lombard Junior High School.
Some of her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, playing bridge and card games, and reading. She had been a volunteer at the Galesburg Public Library for several years. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Funeral will be 10 AM Wednesday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. M.J. Fitch will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Galesburg Public Library. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
