JOE M. ARNOLD, 86, of Harrison, died Aug. 31 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 3, 1921, at Lowry, the son of Ceaf and Pansy Pemberton Arnold.
Mr. Arnold was a member of First Baptist Church at Blue Eye, Mo,, and was a boat dock operator, cattleman and farmer. A Navy veteran of World War II, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Arnold; a son, Frank Arnold, of Green Forest; two daughters, Sally Anne Huston of Harrison, and Rena Jo Arnold, of Germantown, Md.; three sisters, Hope Risley, Marie Mayes and Lorene Risley, all of Harrison; two step-daughters, Rita Smith of Little Rock and Becky Poor of Harrison; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Zena May Arnold, a daughter, Hope Arnold, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were Sept. 3 at First Baptist Church, Blue Eye with Freddie Blevins officiating. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery, Omaha.
