In Memory
The death angels visited the home of A. L. Gasque just one year ago toady May 19, 1937, and took from us our best friend, mother.
One year has passed our hearts still ache
Such grief it was to have to part
Why do we mourn departing friends
Or shake at death's alarm?
'Tis but the voice that Jesus sends
To call them to his arms
Today recalls sad memories
Of a dear one gone to rest;
And those who think of her most
Are those who loved her the best.
To call her back, we never can
But we can meet her in the glory land
We shall go to meet her
There will be no more sad byes;
We can think of nothing sweeter
Then our meeting in the skies
Oh, it is lonely here without you,
In this world of toil and care
But we'll join you with the ransomed
In that home so bright and fair
Peaceful by thy rest dear mother
It is sweet to breathe thy name;
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same
