Mr. Hamp Mullis died Wednesday night at his home in New Salem township after being confined to his bed for about six weeks. He had been in failing health for about two years. Funeral was held yesterday afternoon at New Hope church. He was born May 5, 1851, and was therefore 6 years old last Saturday. He is survived by four children, Messrs. J. R. Mullis, J. V. Mullis Of Unionville, Wade Mullis of New Salem, and Mrs. J. H. McCoy of Goose Creek. He was a son of the late Calvin Mullis, and was born and reared in the community in which he resided at his death. In addition to his children, the following brothers survive: Messrs. Marshall Mullis of Goose Creek and Cull Mullis of Mecklenburg.
