Edna B. Lawton, 93, died Aug. 29, 2008 at Shepherd of the Valley nursing home in Casper.

She was born Dec. 28, 1914 in Craig, Colo. to Sarah Eva McDonald and Oliver Washington Haughey.

She was raised and educated in the Craig early school systems. She was the youngest of four children.

She was married to Chester Oswald Lawton on Jan. 21, 1933 and lived her younger years in Craig.

The family lived in Worland from 1949 to 1969 where her husband worked in the oil field.

She was the mother of 10 children, all still living.

In the late 1960s, she moved to the Tacoma, Wash. area, living in several surrounding communities until health forced her to need assistance.

She spent several winters in California and Arizona and later in Salt Lake City, Utah where she suffered a stroke and was a resident of a care home there before later being transferred to Paradise Valley Care Center in Casper to be closer to family.

She enjoyed being a life-long member of the Assembly God Church wherever she lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister; her husband in 1988; two daughters-in-law; a son-in-law; a grandson; and a granddaughter.

She is survived by her children, Wayne and wife Linda of Worland, Lanay Bingham-Shippert and husband and Calvin and wife all of Glenrock, Wyo., Fay Reid and husband of Sun City, Ariz., Arnold of Los Altos, Calif., Delbert and wife of Mt. Vernon, Wash., Arthur of Tacoma, Merle of Tucson, Ariz., Lawrence and wife of Upland, Calif., Keith and wife of Alta Loma, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
