She was named after her paternal Grandmother, Christiane Jensdatter Worm Pedersen. Her middle name likely came from her maternal Grandmother, Else Marie Pedersdatter Kristensen.

One year later, Christiana died following childbirth with their first child, a daughter, born on February 12, 1905. The child was given the name of her mother, Christiana Marie, and nicknamed "Nan." She was raised by her grandparents, Jens and Elvine Jeppesen. Albert returned to Denmark and Christiana, nor the Jeppesen's ever heard from him again.
