In the past, it was believed that Conrad Sloop's will listed his children in the order they were born, but, Theresa Bouvette Sloop has pointed out that the Township No. 4, Cabarrus County, NC June, 1870 List of Deaths provides Sept., 1869 as Jacob Sloop's date of death, and that his age at the time of death was 69 years old. Therefore, Jacob was born sometime between Sept. 1799 and Sept. 1800 (this Jacob Sloop would have to be the son of Conrad and Mary Sloop, as no other Jacob Sloop would be 69 years of age in 1869.) Because his brother George's grave stone lists his year of birth as 1802, it appears Conrad Sloop's will does not list his children in the order of their birth. The Rowan County, NC census of 1850 confirms both George and Jacob were at that time under 50 years of age.
Jacob Sloop's grave stone has not been found, if it still exists, and there is no known record of his burial location.
