She married Howard (Pete) Henderson April 27, 1932, in Logan, Utah.

Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She served as an organist and teacher in all the organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her love of music enhanced her life. She was a member of the ward choir and sang in trios and duets for many funerals and various entertainments. Blanche also played the piano for the old-time silent movies.

She served as Clifton city clerk for 44 years. She and her husband were honored at a dedicatory ceremony held July 24, 2000, for their combined 84 years of service to the community . The city park was named in their honor "Henderson Park." Blanche served as a notary public for the state of Idaho for a number of years.

CLIFTON — Blanche Hope Henderson, 93, passed away Aug. 26, 2008, in Preston, Idaho, from causes incident to age.
She was born Jan. 11, 1915, in S m i t h f i e l d , Utah, to William D. and Zina Hansen Hope.

Throughout the years she was well-known for her immaculate yard and flower beds. She was known for the delicious meals she would cook for the men who came to work on the farm. Blanche had a beautiful, meticulous penmanship and was often asked to complete various certificates in her handwriting. She painted photographs in the days before colored photography was popular.

She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Lyle (Carol) Henderson of Clifton, DeMar (Janet) Henderson of Nampa, Idaho; seven grandchildren, Wayne (Julie) Henderson of Richmond, Utah, Vicki (Randy ) Olsen of Riverton, Utah, Jerry (Debbie) Henderson of Fayetteville, North Carolina , Darlene Henderson of Providence, Utah, Mike (Lori) Henderson of Caldwell, Idaho, Jackie Henderson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Curtis Henderson of Boise, Idaho; nine great-grandchildren , Michelle, Mitchell (currently serving in the Canada-Calgary LDS Mission ), Ashlee, Amy and April Henderson, Lyndsay Olsen, Blake Henderson, Lindsey and Britney Henderson.

She is also survived by her sister, Jenny Kendall of Aberdeen, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant grandson, her parents, and by several brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to extend deepest appreciation to the Rick and Sally Westover family and Sally and Wayne Jones for their caring and kind service to Mother in the years following the passing of her husband. They also greatly appreciate the patient and loving care she was given by the many pleasant and watchful staff members at the Heritage Home in Preston.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, in the Clifton Second Ward Chapel, with Bishop LaWrell Cook conducting. Friends may call Sunday, Aug. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Clifton Cemetery.
