Passed away due to complications of numerous strokes. He employed most of his family in many successful businesses in Auburndale. He came here from Donaldsonville, Ga in 1954. From 1970 to 1989, he owned Mock Machine Shop, Auburndale Mechanical Supply, Southern Mechanical Supply, & Mock Construction Company roughly at the same time along with numerous rental homes. Except for a handful of workers, the businesses employed his children, cousins and uncles. He sponsered several youth teams and was always involved in youth sports. When he retired in 1989, he bought property in Marble, NC and eventually hired his good friend, Buddy Denton to help build a beautiful cabin up there, so when he got bored down here he would go up there. He loved air boating and flying experimental ultralight aircraft after his son introduced him to the activity. He enjoyed an active and carefree life in his older years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a military police officer. The son of John & Annie Mock, He was the husband of Anna B.
