Robert J. "Ike" Isenhour, 79, of Anderson, died Sept. 4, 2008, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Granite City, Ill., and had been an Anderson resident most of his life, living for 30 years in the South Bend area and returning to Anderson in 1997.

He was employed at Emge Packing for 43 years as a truck driver and salesman, 30 years in the South Bend and Michigan area.

He was 1947 graduate of Anderson High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1950. He was active in Scout Troop 249 when his son was a Scout. He belonged to American Legion Post 127. His hobby was his family and making others laugh.

Survivors include his best friend and wife, Emilie M. (Baker) Isenhour, whom he married Dec. 24, 1948; they enjoyed almost 60 years of fun and laughter together.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, David (wife, Nancy) Isenhour of Anderson; two granddaughters, Lauren (husband, David) Mark of Athens, Greece, and Alison L. Isenhour of Dekalb, Ill.; also his family, June Hacker, Jane Wilson, James and Sophie Baker, Charles and De Etta Baker of Anderson and Robert Baker of Brewster, Mass.; and many loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Isenhour; brother, William C. Isenhour Jr.; sister, Mary Ann Isenhour; and also Phillip "Bud" Baker and Toby Wilson.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, with Pastor Dennis Zirkle officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and an hour prior to services Monday.

Memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
