Joseph Salter James is the son of Elisha James and Sarah Ann PRESSON James.

Elisha became a war casualty; he died in a hospital, leaving Sarah with three small children.

Joseph Salter James Lived 65y 11m 21d. Cause of death: Arsenic Poisoning contributing factors: Nephritis (3 days) Dr. Whitley attended J.S. James from 9 Sep 1922 - 11 Sep 1922. The contributing factor had lasted 3 days before the Arsenic Poisoning. Nephritis is a serious medical condition which is the eighth highest cause of human death. As the kidneys inflame, they begin to excrete needed protein from the body into the urine stream. This condition is called proteinuria. Loss of necessary protein due to nephritis can result in several life-threatening symptoms. Most dangerous in cases of nephritis is the loss of protein that keeps blood from clotting.
